RAW Scholarship

We are pleased to announce that, due to incredible financial support from Hop & Sting, Bear Creek Running Company, Bold In The Cold, and member contributions, we are able to award two First Place scholarships, and two Runner-Up Scholarships. These funds will be sent to the student's account at the accredited College or University they will attend in the fall.

Jordan Losack (first place)

Josue Granados (Runner-Up)

Keshari Rijal (Runner-Up)

Join us at the May 9, 7 PM board meeting at the Clubhouse as we congratulate our winners and
present them each with their "big check"!

Scholarship Details

$2,000 (first place) or $1,000 (Runners-Up) Scholarship for first year of college

  • Paid in two installments to the college or university the recipient will be attending, half in the fall semester and half in the spring semester

  • Funds must be used in the academic year for which they are awarded

 

Graduating seniors of Grapevine or Colleyville Heritage High School who meet the following criteria are encouraged to submit an application:

  • Has been a track or cross country participant their junior and senior year

  • Will attend a two or four year college

  • Will graduate high school with a minimum GPA of 2.5

 

Provided they meet the above criteria, area graduating high school seniors who are members of LGRAW or who have a parent/guardian who has been an LGRAW member for at least two years, are also eligible for the scholarship.

 

Applications will be judged on the following criteria:

  • Overall academic record

  • High school athletic performance

  • Extracurricular school activity/performance

  • Written essay (How running has impacted your life/How your high school running career has prepared you for college)

  • Two Letters of recommendation

  • Volunteer hours
