MEMBER RECOGNITION

Best Foot Forward

Regarded as RAW’s highest honor, the Best Foot Forward (BFF) recipient is awarded to the person who best exhibits the “spirit of RAW.” Past recipients have been recognized for consistently demonstrating leadership, volunteering both publicly and behind the scenes, encouraging and mentoring others and serving as a positive ambassador for the club. This award is given to a member who has projected the essence of our club to the members, to visitors, and to the community.

The Best Foot Forward award is presented at the Annual Meeting in July. Since the year 2000, there have been 22 past recipients. Past winners included Caleb Pollock, Andy Wang, Jack Hase, Kelly Richards, Brad Liles, Sakina Vidacak and Jeff Garber.

A nominee should embody the following criteria:

  1. A role model for other club members (friendly, welcoming, fun, helpful, inclusive of everyone, dependable, active, gives of their time and talents).

  2. Admired and respected by other club members and considered to be a club leader.

  3. Activities are not limited to the most recent year.

  4. Previous winners are eligible after a 24-month period.

  5. Recipient cannot be a current member of the board.

We’re thrilled to announce that Peggy Munroe is the recipient of the 2023 Best Foot Forward award!

Peggy has been a member of the club for several years now. During that time, she has regularly stepped up to volunteer in various capacities, when needed. She has been our race director for Bold in the Cold and Double Trouble for the past year and half (past 2 Bold in the Cold races and the Double Trouble race last fall), organized trail cleanups, spearheaded the inaugural Global Day running event last year with Trailhead Running (also including Blaze Trails, NTX Striders, and Hop & Sting), volunteered for water duty many times, and has participated in board meetings. Peggy, thank you for all you do for RAW!
