RECOGNITION

Honor & Reward

Recognizing club members for their volunteer efforts is a powerful way to celebrate the individuals who give back to the sport. LGRAW acknowledges hard work through programs and events to honor, reward and inspire others to get involved.

Best Foot Forward

Regarded as RAW’s highest honor, the Best Foot Forward (BFF) recipient is awarded to the person who best exhibits the “spirit of RAW.” Past recipients have been recognized for consistently demonstrating leadership, volunteering both publicly and behind the scenes, encouraging and mentoring others and serving as a positive ambassador for the club. This award is given to a member who has projected the essence of our club to the members, to visitors, and to the community.

The Best Foot Forward award is presented at the Annual Meeting in July. Since the year 2000, there have been 22 past recipients. Past winners included Peggy Monroe, Caleb Pollock and Andy Wang. To see the complete list of Best Foot Forward award winners, explore our timeline of past recipients.

A nominee should embody the following criteria:

  1. A role model for other club members (friendly, welcoming, fun, helpful, inclusive of everyone, dependable, active, gives of their time and talents).

  2. Admired and respected by other club members and considered to be a club leader.

  3. Activities are not limited to the most recent year.

  4. Previous winners are eligible after a 24-month period.

  5. Recipient cannot be a current member of the board

Best Foot Forward 2024 Winner

We’re thrilled to announce that Lianne Raices is the recipient of the 2024 Best Foot Forward award!

Lianne truly embodies the spirit of the Lake Grapevine Runners and Walkers club. She consistently puts her best foot forward in countless ways. A regular face at our weekend runs and Tuesday night meetups at Hop & Sprint. Lianne is also a dedicated volunteer — stepping up for water duty, Sunday pancakes, and helping at our signature races like Double Trouble, Bold in the Cold, and the Dallas Marathon Aid Station. Whether it’s setting up, tearing down, or cheering on runners, Lianne is always there with a smile and support.

This year, Lianne reached an incredible milestone by completing the Abbott World Marathon Majors, earning her sixth and final star at the 2025 Boston Marathon!

Lianne brings a bright, positive energy to our club and is always kind, welcoming, and encouraging to everyone she meets. We’re so lucky to have her as part of our community.

Lianne, thank you for all you do for RAW!
