
College Scholarship
As part of our commitment to giving back to the sport of running, Lake Grapevine Runners and Walkers has an annual $2,000 scholarship for a graduating high school senior.
Scholarship Details:

$2,000 Scholarship for first year of college

Paid in two installments to the college or university the recipient will be attending, half in the fall semester and half in the spring semester

Funds must be used in the academic year for which they are awarded

Graduating seniors of Grapevine or Colleyville Heritage High School who meet the following criteria are encouraged to submit an application:

Has been a track or cross country participant their junior and senior year

Will attend a two or four year college

Will graduate high school with a minimum GPA of 2.5
* Provided they meet the above criteria, area graduating high school seniors who are members of LGRAW or who have a parent/guardian who has been an LGRAW member for at least two years, are also eligible for the scholarship.
Applications will be judged on the following criteria:

Overall academic record

High school athletic performance

Extracurricular school activity/performance

Written essay (How running has impacted your life/How your high school running career has prepared you for college)

Two Letters of recommendation

Volunteer hours
Due to a generous $2,000 donation, by an anonymous RAW member, to fund a 2nd scholarship, we were able to award two $2,000 scholarships for the 2021-2022 academic year!
Rachel Sutliff and Kalil Bell, both students at Grapevine High School, were selected as our scholarship winners.
